SPORTO 2021 goes digital, featuring a special guest – Arsène Wenger

Make a note on your calendar and join us on 21 and 22 January 2021 (Thursday and Friday), from 11 am to 5 pm CET (or watch by replay), for an exciting, new and completely different online experience.

The digital version of the SPORTO Conference will continue the tradition of the previous editions by connecting in one place the representatives of many leading sports business players – brands, sports properties and agencies – only this year, they will participate in a digital format. You will have the opportunity to tune into live talks and conversations with leading-edge experts from different fields, meeting at the crossroads of sponsorship, branding, digital communication and sports fan engagement. In light of the current circumstances, the topics will be approached from the perspective of the pandemic, along with its challenges and necessary adjustments.

The online platform “ON AiR”, used by SPORTO – in collaboration with the “Cankarjev dom” Cultural and Congress Centre in Ljubljana – for our digital talks over the last few months, will be upgraded during the conference, offering a two-day online programme full of rich and diverse content. Registered users will have the opportunity to not only participate in an interactive and digital networking experience but also watch the content by replay in the weeks after the conference.

Here is a sneak preview of who will be among the top guest speakers sharing the ‘online stage’ with you:

Kim Skildum-Reid, Founder and Director of Power Sponsorship, an Australian based company providing consulting, training, and coaching services, is undoubtedly one of the most influential thought leaders in the sponsorship industry. She provides strategic advice to major corporate brands and is the author of the bestsellers “The Corporate Sponsorship Toolkit” and “The Ambush Marketing Toolkit”.
Two names from two most recognised brands in the world of sports, Coca-Cola and Tour de France: Florian Lamblin, Head of International Development at Amaury Sport Organization (A.S.O.), agency involved in the organisation of the famous Tour de France, and Ricardo Fort, Vice-president of Global Sports and Entertainment Partnerships at The Coca-Cola Company, who is among the leading world experts in the sector of commercial sports partnerships.
Lewis Wiltshire, Chief Executive Officer of Seven League (part of Mailman Group), a leading digital sports agency, working with brands such as the NBA, NHL, UEFA and football clubs Barcelona and Juventus, and Matthew Entwistle, Group Managing Director at Two Circles, “Agency of the Year” at the Sport Industry Awards, will also be among our guests.
Last but not least, we are happy to announce another popular and highly respected name in the top-flight football: the famous French coach Arsène Wenger, known as ‘Le Professeur’, will be our special guest at the conference discussing the topic of leadership in these unusual times.

His name is practically a legend in Arsenal, where he was the manager for 22 years, winning seven FA Cups and three Premier League titles. Considered as one of the biggest motivators in European football, whose studious approach to the game and unique business model yielded a lot of fruitful results, he is still the only coach in English football history who led his team to an undefeated league season. Wenger, who has recently published his much awaited autobiography, is currently FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development.

This should give you a taste of what to expect at this year’s online SPORTO conference. Hopefully, the agenda will be interesting enough to inspire you to join in – albeit in a different way than what we are used to – and be part of the event that has been the meeting point for sports marketing industry in the wider Adriatic region since 2004.

Early-bird registration for the “SPORTO 2021 ONLINE EXPERIENCE” is now open here (to make the price available to anyone who wants to participate, the registration fee is only 99 EUR + VAT with 500 spots available).

Welcome!
