SPORTO BRANDS 2016

We can unveil the nominees for SPORTO Brands 2016 presented by Sportklub. The prize winners are decided on the basis of a research conducted by Mediana among the general public and represent the most recognised, popular, successful and marketing-wise appealing male and female athletes and sports clubs in Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. The research has been conducted for the 10th time (since 2006) in Slovenia 4th time (since 2013) also in Croatia and Serbia.
 
The nominees – five from each category – are listed in alphabetical order. All the last year’s winners are among the nominees this year. We can find 12 medal holders from Olympics in Rio on the list, for the first time Croatian rowing brothers Valent and Martin Sinković have made it to the list, as is Slovenian motocross rider Tim Gajser. Winter sportspersons dominate the Slovenian list, athletics with four representatives, and tennis, basketball and taekwondo with three nominations are the most successful federations in Croatia and Serbia, when it comes to individuals’ lists.  Football is the king among the sports clubs’ nominees; the only female sports club on the list is Slovenian women’s handball team RK Krim.
 
The SPORTO BRANDS 2016 will be announced at the SPORTO Evening Event on Thursday, November 17.

The methodology includes the following elements: awareness, transaction (knowledge and following of results), leading edge (global reach), satisfaction with achieved results, success (current results and potential), personality (appeal, trust), inclusion in informal conversations and fan participation (measured only for clubs).
